Mark Hornbacher, Director of St. Paul School of Evangelization, introduces the Theology of Evangelization courses. These courses provide some background theology for the work of Catholic evangelists. Topics include the covenants, salvation, the call to evangelize, God’s mysterious saving plan, and imitating God in the work of evangelization. Theology of Evangelization is the third and final part of the larger Basic Evangelization Training video series.
Everywhere we turn, there’s division.
Our world is fractured, Broken.
But in God, We find our rest.
This life is short. The next one is forever.
Choose Joy Choose Peace.
Choose Heaven, Choose God.
There are two calls in the Christian life: holiness, and to evangelize. One cannot exist without the other as to be holy means, in part, to tell people about Jesus and the salvation He won for us. At the root of holiness is love of God and love of neighbor, willing the good to them. The greatest good we can will is the salvation of others, and so evangelization is also about love. Temptations can arise against taking evangelization as a personal responsibility, and Christians might not think themselves able to evangelize for various reasons. Nevertheless, Christ calls us to be holy and to tell others about Him.
